Description
The Romanian Maltese Relief Service (SAMR) is a non-profit organization. We serve poor people and anyone in difficult socio-economic situations.
For 25 years, through our 17 subsidiaries and branches in the country, we are developing programs for the benefit of those in need – the elderly, the sick, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Almost 1000 volunteers are constantly involved to help them live with dignity and to alleviate or combat social exclusion. Our staff is almost 95% made up of volunteers. All the work we do aims to continue the 900-year-old tradition of the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta – “Protecting the faith and helping those in need”.
