We are a R&D entity within the structures of the Polish Academy of Sciences. We help NGOs in need of technological and scientific skills and resources
We facilitate cooperation and communication between technical and social innovators. Our goal is to apply modern technology to problems identified by social activists.
Examples:
— decentralized social media platforms for social sector;
— use of drones and “internet of things” to monitor environment locally;
— small educational wind, solar, hydroponics, composting toilets etc. to promote urban resilience and footprint reduction;
— “Living laboratories” providing proof-of-concept solitions for smart city and smart commune needs.
Competence and Expertise Offered
Directly, we manage almost 1500 sqm of computer and robotic laboratories, coworking space and online infrastructure. Through our upstream entity, Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Centre, we can involve almost 500 people working there, mostly top class high-tech scientist and engineers across robotics, IT, telecommunications and electronics.
Through our partnerships we can get cooperation from industrial and scientific entities throughout Poznań, Wielkopolska region and abroad.
Expertise sought
We are looking for partners who can identify important problems that can be sensibly solved with some use of technology. We are keen to form partnerships to create POC/porototype solutions and possibly incubate social enterprises to take them over, refine and proliferate.
