BVA was created with the idea to preserve the visual cultural heritage of Bulgaria through found and donated photography and movies.
The mission of BVA is to build, preserve and distribute an independent public visual archive of photographic and video materials. One of the main goals of the foundation is to be able to provide visual content that explores the past for the needs and goals of historians, researchers and artists, as well as future generations. Bulgarian Visual Archive strives to unite private archives, government agencies and other organizations with the idea to create a community together.
Our projects are related to digitization, organization, curation, and exhibition of archives.
