NGO SATEKA is Local Action Group (LAG), that implements local development strategy in their territory – in the east of Latvia: Gulbene municipality.
NGO introduces a LEADER approach. LAG is a public-private partnership – an association of local organizations, entrepreneurs, local government and rural communities.The LEADER approach is associated with local empowerment through local strategy development and resource allocation.
Competence and Expertise Offered
NGO has been running since 2007. There is experience in the implementation of various projects. The Society also launches project contests not only under LEADER, but has also set up its own project calling for a Small Projects competition involving local NGOs and informal population groups.
We have implemented international cooperation projects about the development of small and tourism business, the use of forest non-wood resources, cultural heritage.

1. Small entrepreneurship. Promotion and development of youth entrepreneurship; Local products;
3. The development of the village communities and the involvement of society in shaping their living space;
4. Bioeconomy/circular economy, renewable energy, climate change, use of natural resources, environmental issues, waste management, forestry un forest non- wood resourse use;
5. Unified promotion of geographically protected products, ancient trade and skills. Cultural heritage.
