We have entered the last phase of the 2014-2021 EEA Grants programme, with the last projects set to end in 2024. It is time to take stock and look at the remaining funding opportunities.

The list below covers all the bilateral funding opportunities open to donor country partners from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. It does not include calls that are not open to bilateral projects.

With a few exceptions (Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, and Poland Regional), the majority of national calls are now closed. But there are still opportunities for bilateral projects through the “Bilateral Cooperation Initiatives” available in each country.

These bilateral initiatives are underused due to the effect the pandemic has had on international cooperation. The funds are by nature flexible and allow–for example–for the financing of internships, participation in conferences, seminars and short duration training courses, and fostering contacts amongst NGOs and other potential partners. Check the links below for country-specific information.
