Helge O. Svela

Helge O. Svela is an award-winning journalist and editor, who is now the CEO of the Norwegian media cluster, Media City Bergen.

Svela has previously worked at Bergens Tidende newspaper, where he has been in several roles over the past 16 years, including editor and journalist. Before joining Bergens Tidende, he was a journalist at Rogalands Avis. He was awarded a diploma for one of Norway’s first digital fact-checking projects from SKUP, which is Norway’s most prestigious award for investigative journalism.
