Hanne Sekkelsten has a law education from the University of Oslo and started at the Norwegian Media Authority in 2010. In 2018, she became a department director after acting in the position since 2017.
Sekkelsten has varied experience from various public administrative agencies, including from the County Governor (Fylkesmannen) of Østfold county in Norway. She has also worked as a lawyer at the law firm Din Advokatpartner AS before being employed at the Media Authority in 2010.
