Răzvan Chiruță

Răzvan Chiruță is the editor-in-chief of the Romanian media portal PRESShub, since 2022. Previously, he was editor-in-chief of Newsweek Romania from 2018 to 2021 and of România liberă from 2015 to 2017.

He holds a degree in Journalism from “Al.I.Cuza” University of Iași and a Master’s degree in Management of Media Institutions (without dissertation) from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Bucharest.

He started his career at Opinia studențească, a well-known press school in Iași. He worked in the local press, then became a correspondent for Iași of the daily newspaper Evenimentul Zilei. Since 2004, he has coordinated the correspondent section of Evenimentului Zilei for six months. He also worked for the weekly newspaper Prezent and collaborated with the magazines Dilema Veche and Suplimentul de Cultură.

He is co-author of the volumes “Media and Democracy in Post-Communist Romania” from 2013 and “COVID – 19. Dimensions of pandemic management” from 2020.
