Objectives
The overall objective of the Programme is the strengthening of civil society and active citizenship and the empowerment of vulnerable groups and it is based on the common values of respect of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and the respect for human rights including rights of persons belonging to minorities.
Program structure
The program is foreseen to have 6 open calls for proposals, all projects contributing to the following outcomes:
- Vulnerable groups empowered
- Strengthened civil society watchdog and advocacy role
- Increased citizen participation in civic activities
- Increased support for human rights
- Enhanced capacity and sustainability of civil society organizations and the sector
Each CSO, applying as a project promoter (lead applicant) or partner, can submit only one application per call. Norwegian organizations are encouraged to apply as partners together with a lead applicant.
A Bilateral Fund is reserved for initiatives aiming to strengthen bilateral relations between NGOs established in Greece and entities in Norway. An open Call for Bilateral Cooperation Initiatives was announced on February 21st, 2019 and will remain open until June 30th, 2023, 12:00pm EET, or until the exhaustion of the available funds, whichever occurs first. The total amount allocated to support initiatives through the open call is € 92,000.
